Katie and Eli are MARRIED! What a joy it was to celebrate with them at their Camp Sumatanga wedding! A place filled with so many wonderful memories from their summers, and the very place that they met. Their story came full circle as they stood lakeside declaring their love for one another. But don’t take it from me, Katie explains it best. “Eli and I originally met at Camp Sumatanga. Eli grew up going to Sumatanga as a camper and then volunteered and eventually worked on Summer Staff at camp during his summers at college! I did not grow up going to Sumatanga as a camper, but volunteered in college and fell in love with the place, so I came back to work the next summer! The first summer I worked Eli and I were in the same “family group,” so we saw each other regularly, but honestly paid no attention to each other.” After camp was over, their friends set up a small reunion. A few weeks later, the rest was history!
With this place holding so many memories, Katie had a very specific place in mind for their first look. A beautiful chapel that overlooks the entire property. After reading letters from one another, they had the sweetest first look! We were then able to go to Katie’s favorite little area of camp for some portraits. It was so special to be able to see their favorite places and hear their stories. It was even more special to see one of my past couples, Tori and Zeke, at their wedding!
My absolute FAVORITE part of their day was during their ceremony. After Eli and Katie shared in communion, they served every single one of their guests. It was beautiful to witness, and was such a testament to their hearts. What a perfect way to share the love of the Father with those they love most!Once they were officially Mr. & Mrs. Rearden, their guests picked up their Auburn shakers to cheer them on back down the aisle!!
Mr. and Mrs. Rearden, we ADORE you both and are so grateful to have been a part of your wedding day! Thank you so much from the bottom of our hearts for inviting us in to be a part of it!
